ST. LOUIS — A guest is suing the Missouri Athletic Club, alleging negligence.

Ronda Spicher filed a complaint on Jan. 17 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against the Missouri Athletic Club alleging that the hotel operator breached its duty to provide a safe room to its guests.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 21, 2016, she and her husband rented a room at the defendant's hotel located at 405 Washington Ave. in St. Louis. While attempting to enter the bathroom, she allegedly tripped and fell on the black painted step-up. She allegedly  sustained serious and painful injuries to her upper right extremity that resulted in disability, pain and suffering, lost of income and incidental expenses.

The plaintiff holds Missouri Athletic Club responsible because the defendant allegedly negligently maintained the room with a step-up that was hazardous, failed to provide adequate illumination and failed to locate the switch near the entrance.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury; and seeks damages of more than $25,000, plus costs of this action and all further relief that the court may deem necessary. She is represented by Gil Gherardini of Wolfgram & Associates PC in St. Louis and Michael Marincic of Goldfine & Bowles in Peoria, Illinois.
