Motorist sues Matthew Heating and Cooling over car accident

Car accident 18

ST. LOUIS — A motorist is suing Matthew Heating and Cooling Services Inc., alleging negligent entrustment of a service van.

Ladonna Ware filed a complaint on Jan. 19 in the St. Louis 22nd Judicial Circuit Court against Matthew Heating and Cooling Services alleging that the service van owner negligently entrusted its vehicle to a careless driver.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Oct. 31, 2017 she was driving her motor vehicle northbound on Hampton Avenue preparing to turn in to Steak 'n Shake when the defendant's employee caused its service van to strike the front passenger side of her vehicle, causing it to overturn and collide with other vehicles. She sustained serious and permanent injuries, and her car was rendered a total loss.

The plaintiff holds Matthew Heating and Cooling Services Inc. responsible because the defendant's employee allegedly failed to maintain careful lookout, negligently made an improper lane change and failed to stay in his own lane of travel.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury; and seeks damages of not less than $25,000, plus interest, costs, and any further relief as the court may deem just and proper. She is represented by Kevin A. Sullivan of Sauter Sullivan LLC in St. Louis.
