Woman claims driver for Accel Lawn & Landscape to blame for accident

Car accident 21

ST. LOUIS — A driver is suing another motorists and his employer, alleging negligence.

Marilouise Leonard filed a complaint on Jan. 31 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Humberto Sanchez and Accel Lawn & Landscape Services LLC.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 24, 2015 she was stopped at the exit of a QuikTrip parking lot when Sanchez, who was acting as an agent for Accel, signaled to her that she could turn left in front of his stopped vehicle. As she proceeded, another vehicle violently stuck the passenger side of her vehicle causing her to strike the defendant's vehicle. She allegedly sustained serious and disabling injuries to her left arm, neck, back and other parts of the body.

The plaintiff holds Sanchez and Accel Lawn & Landscape Services responsible because Sanchez, during the course of his employment, allegedly wrongfully signaled to her that it was safe for her to emerge from the parking lot.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury; and seeks judgment against the defendant in excess of $25,000, plus costs of this action and all further relief as the court may deem proper. She is represented by Michael H. Izsak and Erin M. Lenahan of Klar, Izsak & Stenger LLC in St. Louis.
