Woman sues City of St. Louis after she allegedly tripped and fell on sidewalk

ST. LOUIS — An individual is suing the City of St. Louis and Tomcat Construction LLC for alleged negligence and premises liability.

Anna Chresanthakes filed a complaint on Jan. 31 in the St. Louis Circuit Court, alleging that the defendants failed to sufficiently warn her about a dangerous condition.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she was walking along a concrete sidewalk on Nov. 10 when she allegedly tripped and fell in front of a building owned by Tomcat located at 5131 Shaw Ave. She allegedly sustained injuries to her left knee, spine and lower back. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly maintaining the sidewalk in an uneven and unlevelled condition and for allegedly failing to provide a safe alternative route.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of no less than $25,000, plus the costs of this action and all other relief the court deems just and proper. She is represented by Eric F. Kayira and Irene Costas of Kayira Law LLC in Clayton.
