Owners of Lumiere Place Casino accused of negligence in slip and fall

Slip02

ST. LOUIS — A customer is suing Tropicana St. Louis LLC, Lynn K. Stafford and Edward D. Wyatt, casino operator and employees, citing alleged negligence.

Lorenzo Hayes filed a complaint on Jan. 29 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against the defendants alleging that they violated the standard operating procedure regarding public safety and maintenance procedures.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 5, 2016 he was a customer at the defendants'  Lumiere Place Casino when he was injured when he slipped and fell inside the restroom due to accumulated water on the floor. He allegedly sustained injuries to his neck, back. lip, shoulder, chest and head.

The plaintiff holds Tropicana St. Louis LLC, Lynn K. Stafford and Edward D. Wyatt responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to exercise ordinary care to fix a malfunctioning urinal and failed to provide adequate warning of the known dangerous condition.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury; and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount in excess of $25,000, plus costs of this action, and any further relief as the court may deem just and proper. He is represented by Justin D. Guerra of Holloran Schwartz & Gartner LLP in St. Louis.
