ST. LOUIS — A customer is suing a local KFC restaurant operator, alleging negligence.

Patricia Fletcher filed a complaint on Feb. 7 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Morgan Foods of Missouri alleging that the restaurant operator failed to maintain its premises in a reasonably safe condition.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 21, 2016 she was a customer at the defendant's KFC restaurant at 5020 Delmar Ave. in St. Louis City when she slipped and fell in the restroom. She allegedly sustained serious and permanent injuries to her left shoulder, left hip and low back; and incurred medical expenses in excess of $11,000 and loss wages.

The plaintiff holds Morgan Foods responsible because the company allegedly failed to inspect the restroom and discover a dangerous condition, and failed to make it safe and to adequately warn its customers of the danger.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury; and seeks damages of more than $25,000, plus costs of this action and any further relief as the court may deem just and proper. She is represented by Michael J. Sudekum of Mandel & Mandel LLP in St. Louis.
