ST. LOUIS — A driver and her passenger are suing another motorist, alleging negligence.
Willie Mae Cooper and Delores Cooper filed a complaint on Feb. 6 in the St. Louis 22nd Judicial Circuit Court against Ceandrio Hudspeth alleging that she breached her duty to operate a motor vehicle in a careful and prudent manner.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Oct. 15, 2017 Willie Mae Cooper and Delores Cooper were on the ramp to westbound Interstate 70 near Highway 63 when the defendant struck the rear of their vehicle. They allegedly sustained injuries to various parts of their bodies and were caused to incur medical expenses.
The plaintiffs hold Hudspeth responsible because she allegedly failed to maintain proper lookout, failed to stop or reduce speed, and failed to swerve to avoid striking plaintiffs vehicle.
The plaintiffs request a trial by jury; and seek judgment in favor of plaintiffs for damages in excess of $15,000 for each of them, plus costs, and any further relief that the court may deem just and proper. They are represented by Kevin A. Sullivan of Sauter Sullivan LLC in St. Louis.
