Simon Kohn Enterprises, employee accused of negligence in car crash

Car accident 09

ST. LOUIS — A motorist is suing an employee and his employer, alleging negligence.

Keith Hunter filed a complaint on Feb. 7 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Larry Carter and Simon Kohn Enterprises Inc. alleging that Simon Kohn negligently hired and retained Carter, a careless driver.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Dec. 8, 2016, he was driving eastbound on Locust Street entering its intersection with North 20th Street with a green light when a van driven by Carter acting in the scope of his employment with Simon Kohn crashed into the side of his car. He allegedly  sustained serious injuries to his right shoulder, neck, hips, right knee and mouth.

The plaintiff holds Carter and Simon Kohn Enterprises  responsible because in the scope of his work Carter allegedly recklessly drove the van at an excessive rate of speed, failed to maintain proper lookout and failed to obey traffic signal.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury; and seeks damages in excess of $25,000, plus interest, costs, and any further relief as the court deems just and proper. He is represented by Andrew T. Drazen of Page Law LLC in St. Louis.
