ST. LOUIS — A passenger is suing two drivers alleging negligence.

Sonia Simms filed a complaint on Feb. 13 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against John Prowell and Dorothy L. Jones, alleging that they failed to exercise the highest degree of care while operating their respective motor vehicles.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 20, 201, she was passenger in a motor vehicle driven by Jones when Prowell carelessly ran a red light, entered the intersection and collided with her vehicle. She allegedly sustained injuries to her shoulder and neck, and incurred medical expenses in excess of $17,600.

The plaintiff holds Prowell and Jones responsible because they allegedly failed to maintain careful lookout, failed to yield the right of way and failed to take evasive actions to avoid a collision.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury; and seeks damages of more than $25,000, and all other relief as the court may deem just and proper. She is represented by Thomas Traube of Sorrell & Traube in St. Louis.
