ST. LOUIS — A driver and passenger are suing Antoinette M. Brown and Durham School Services LP for alleged negligence.
Willie T. Prothro and Jacquelyn Glover filed a complaint on Feb. 13 in the St. Louis Circuit Court, alleging that Brown breached her duty to exercise due care and caution while operating a motor vehicle.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that they were in a motor vehicle parked in the lane nearest to the curb on Melvin Avenue on March 29 when Brown, who was allegedly acting within the scope of her employment with Durham School Services, allegedly struck the rear of their vehicle with the bus that she was operating. The plaintiffs claim that they suffered severe injuries, nerve shock and lacerations that allegedly resulted in pain and medical expenses. The plaintiffs hold the defendants responsible because Brown allegedly failed to keep a careful lookout and stop, swerve or reduce her speed to avoid the collision.
The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendants in an amount in excess of $25,000 and all further relief that the court may deem just and proper. They are represented by Michael P. Steeno of Miller & Steeno PC in St. Louis.
