Motorist claims speed a factor in Old Halls Ferry crash

Car accident 19

ST. LOUIS — A motorist is suing another driver, alleging negligence.

Dorian Johnson filed a complaint on Feb. 20 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Tyler A. Whittington, alleging that he breached his duty to operate a motor vehicle in a careful and prudent manner.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 9, 2016 he was driving a motor vehicle southbound on Old Halls Ferry when the defendant collided with his vehicle, causing him to be thrown about and injured. He allegedly sustained serious, permanent and painful injuries to his neck, back, bones and other parts of his body.

The plaintiff holds Whittington responsible because the defendant allegedly negligently drove his vehicle at an excessive rate of speed, failed to maintain careful lookout and failed to take evasive actions to avoid the said collision.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury; and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount that is fair and reasonable, plus costs of this action. He is represented by Joseph K. Robbins of The Robbins Law Firm in St. Louis.
