Woman claims owner negligent after dog attacked her

Dogattack

ST. LOUIS — A woman is suing  a dog owner, alleging failure to warn and negligence.

Vanessa Wilburn filed a complaint on March 5 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Ron Buechele alleging that the dog owner failed to exercise due care for the safety of others.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 15, 2017 she was lawfully upon the defendant's private property when she was attacked by a dog without any provocation. She was bitten on the back and front of her right forearm. She allegedly sustained serious injuries resulting in extreme pain and mental anguish, permanent scarring and medical expenses.

The plaintiff holds Buechele responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to warn her of the vicious and agitated propensity of the dog.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury; and seeks damages in an amount greater than $50,000, plus costs of this action, and any further relief as the court may deem just and proper. She is represented by Stephen F. Meyerkord and Geoffrey Meyerkord of Meyerkord & Meyerkord LLC in St. Louis.
