Motorist accused of negligence for Oleatha wreck

Car accident 43

ST. LOUIS — A motorist is suing another driver, alleging negligence.

Arthur Norman filed a complaint on March 2 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Carlie Schipper alleging that she breached her duty to operate a motor vehicle in a careful and prudent manner.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 5, 2017, he was driving his motor vehicle on Oleatha near its intersection with Hereford when the defendant collided with his vehicle, causing him to be thrown about. He allegedly sustained serious, painful and permanent injuries to his neck, shoulders, spine and left wrist.

The plaintiff holds Schipper responsible because the defendant allegedly negligently drove her vehicle at a high rate of speed that was dangerous for the existing conditions without maintaining careful lookout, and failed to take evasive actions to avoid the accident.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury; and seeks compensatory damages of more than $25,000, plus costs of this action, and all further relief that the court may deem just and proper. He is represented by Theodore H. Hoffman and Steven M. Gelfman of Hoffman & Gelfman Attorneys PC in St. Louis.
