U-Haul driver alleges St. Louis man caused I-70 wreck

Car accident 13

ST. LOUIS — A U-Haul driver is suing Kim Eugene of St. Louis, alleging negligence.

Daniel Agrell filed a complaint on Feb. 26 in the St. Louis Circuit Court alleging that Eugene failed to maintain control of the vehicle he was driving.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 4, 2016 he was driving a U-Haul westbound on Interstate 70 near milepost 144 in Ellis County, Kansas when the defendant caused his 2016 Honda Civic to collide with the plaintiff's vehicle. As a result of the violent impact, the plaintiff allegedly sustained severe injuries to his arms, back, neck, head, legs and shoulders.

The plaintiff holds Eugene responsible because the defendant allegedly negligently drove his vehicle too fast for the road conditions, failed to maintain careful lookout and failed to give warning of his approach.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury; and seeks damages of more than $25,000 but less than $75,000, plus interest, costs, and any further relief that the court may deem just and proper. He is represented by Derek Thrasher of The Law Office of Derek S. Thrasher LLC in St. Charles.
