Woman alleges driver failed to yield in Skinker Boulevard crash

Car accident 18

ST. LOUIS – A St. Louis woman is seeking more than $25,000 from an individual over a collision in the city.

Shirley Patrick filed a complaint on March 14 in the St. Louis 22nd Judicial Circuit Court against Lee Rice alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Feb. 4, 2015, she was driving a motor vehicle traveling southbound on Skinker Boulevard near its intersection with Vernon Avenue in St. Louis when the defendant, who was coming from the opposite direction, suddenly and without warning attempted to make a left turn and collided with her vehicle.

The plaintiff alleges she sustained serious and permanent injuries to her head, neck, back, chest, right arm, right leg and right hand as a result of the collision.

The plaintiff holds Rice responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to maintain careful lookout and failed to yield to the right of way.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of more than $25,000, plus costs of this action and all further relief as the court may deem just and proper. She is represented by Ely Hadowsky of Brown & Brown LLP in St. Louis.
