Driver alleged to have failed to yield, cause rear-end collision in St. Louis

Car accident 04

ST. LOUIS – A St. Louis woman is seeking damages from another driver over a rear-end collision in the city.

Joann Sims filed a complaint on March 19 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Rebecca Sommerhauser alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 31, 2013, she was a passenger in a motor vehicle that had just made a right turn from southbound Broadway entering Interstate 70 when defendant violently rear-ended the vehicle plaintiff was in. She alleges she sustained injuries resulting in medical expenses, disability and pain and suffering as a result of the collision.

The plaintiff holds Sommerhauser responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to maintain a careful lookout, failed to sound warning of her approach and failed to yield to the right of way.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of no less than $25,000, plus costs of this suit. She is represented by Michael A. Lawder of Anderson & Gilbert LC in St. Louis.
