Passenger alleges bus driver struck curb in St. Louis, caused injuries

ST. LOUIS – A school bus passenger alleges that she was injured when the driver struck a curb.

Lillie Mason, by and through her mother and next friend Andromakee Butler, filed a complaint on in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Lauren Annette Cheathem and First Student Inc. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 15, 2016, she was a passenger in a motor vehicle driven by Cheathem, who was acting as an agent for defendant First Student, when she ran over a street curb at CST Russell Boulevard and CST Nebraska Avenue in St. Louis. She alleges she sustained injuries and damages and incurred medical expenses as a result.

The plaintiff holds Cheathem and First Student Inc. responsible because defendant Cheathem allegedly negligently drove her vehicle at a high rate of speed and failed to maintain proper lookout.

The plaintiff seeks damages of no less than $25,000, plus costs of this action. She is represented by Keith P. Gray in St. Louis.
