ST. LOUIS – The manager of a senior apartment complex in St. Louis is alleged to have failed to repair a loose tile that caused a tenant to fall.

Jearleana Jones filed a complaint on April 5 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Winter Gardens Preservation LP alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 12, 2017, she was attempting to exit the elevator at defendant's Winter Garden Apartments building when she slipped and fell due to a loose tile in the floor. She alleges she sustained injuries to her head, neck, back and tailbone.

The plaintiff holds Winter Gardens Preservation LP responsible because the defendant allegedly did not take action to stabilize the tile and failed to provide notice or warning that such danger existed.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of more than $25,000 and all further relief that the court may deem just and proper. She is represented by Brent A. Sumner and Andrew S. Martin of The Sumner Law Group LLC in Clayton.
