ST. LOUIS – A New Jersey woman alleges a security guard for a St. Louis hotel accessed her room while she slept and assaulted her.
Shannon Dugan filed a complaint in the St. Louis 22nd Judicial Circuit Court against David A. White alleging negligent infliction of emotional distress and assault and battery.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 19, 2016, she was in St. Louis to attend a convention and stayed overnight at the Hyatt Regency St. Louis at the Arch. The suit states White "used his position as a security employee and/or agent of the hotel to gain access to plaintiff's private hotel room and sexually assault and commit battery upon plaintiff."
The plaintiff alleges as a result of White's alleged acts, she sustained medically diagnosable and significant emotional distress.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks punitive and compensatory damages, costs incurred for the action and all further relief that are just and proper. She is represented by Scott S. Bethune, Wes Shumate and James F. Stigall of Davis, Bethune & Jones LLC in Kansas City.
