ST. LOUIS – An Illinois man alleges his back injuries were caused by the working conditions during his employment with Amtrak.

Reginald Gee filed a complaint on April 18 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against National Railroad Passenger Corporation (Amtrak) citing the Federal Employer's Liability Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that during the course of his employment with the defendant in St. Louis, he was injured due to excessive and repetitive unsafe ergonomics and postures. He alleges his back injuries were caused by repetitive and cumulative motions and excessive vibrations during his employment.

The plaintiff holds National Railroad Passenger Corp. (Amtrak) responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide safe equipment and appliances for his work, failed to ensure that its trains and tracks were not defective and failed to properly train its workers the proper posture and ergonomics in performing their job.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of more than $25,000, plus costs of this action and any further relief to which he is entitled. He is represented by D. Matthew Dreesen of Dreesen Law Firm LLC in Chesterfield.
