Medical malpractice 01

ST. LOUIS – A St. Louis woman has filed suit against a doctor and health care facility after a pregnancy loss.

Teara Fisher filed a complaint on April 26 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Darryl Zinck MD and Family Health Centers alleging medical negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 28, 2016, she was accepted by defendants as a patient for her pregnancy. She alleges Zinck discovered a low fetal heartbeat and that she was observed as having abdominal pain and abnormal amounts of protein in her urine. She alleges she was sent home without further treatment.

The suit states on May 3, 2016, the plaintiff discovered that the fetus had been deceased for 24 to 48 hours due to a knot in the umbilical cord.

The plaintiff holds Zinck and Family Health Centers responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to perform further tests or procedures and negligently and carelessly treated her.

The plaintiff seeks economic and non-economic damages of more than $25,000, plus costs of this action. She is represented by Jonathan R. Lerman of Lerman Keathley LLC in Chesterfield.
