More than 20 allege Monsanto failed to warn of Roundup dangers

ST. LOUIS – More than 20 plaintiffs have filed a suit against Monsanto and a marketing company over allegations they failed to warn of the dangers of Roundup.

John Burghoff, Joseph Abanishe, Rebecca Albright, et al. filed a complaint on April 27 in the St. Louis 22nd Judicial Circuit Court against Monsanto Co., Osborn & Barr Communications Inc., and Osborn & Barr Holdings alleging failure to warn and other counts.

According to the complaint, Monsanto produces the herbicide Roundup and Osborn & Barr marketed and advertised the product. The plaintiffs allege that as a result of their exposure to Roundup, an herbicide that contains active ingredient glyphosate and surfactant polyethoxylated tallow amine, they were injured.

The plaintiffs holds Monsanto Co., Osborn & Barr Communications Inc. and Osborn & Barr Holdings responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to provide adequate warnings and proper directions about the dangers associated with using Roundup.

The plaintiffs and seek punitive damages of no less than $25,000, plus costs and all further relief that the court may deem proper and just. They are represented by John G. Simon, Anthony G. Simon and Amy Collignon Gunn of The Simon Law Firm PC in St. Louis.
