ST. LOUIS – A woman is alleged to have accelerated at a red light and cause a rear-end collision in St. Louis.
Mira Orescanin filed a complaint on May 15 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Crystal Smentkowski alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 11, 2016, she was driving a motor vehicle traveling northbound on Idaho Avenue approaching its intersection with Loughborough Avenue in St. Louis when defendant accelerated at a red light and collided into the rear of her vehicle. She alleges she sustained severe and permanent injuries, including cervical sprain, thoracic sprain and lumbar sprain as a result of the crash.
The plaintiff holds Smentkowski responsible because the defendant allegedly negligently drove at an excessive rate of speed and failed to keep a careful lookout.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of no less than $25,000 and all further relief as the court may deem proper and just. She is represented by Daniel J. Marsh of Mandel & Mandel LLP in St. Louis.
