ST. LOUIS – An Illinois man is seeking damages from his insurer and an unknown driver over a collision on Interstate 55 in St. Louis.

Steve Taylor filed a complaint on May 31 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Unique Insurance Managers Inc. and John Doe alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 15, 2016, he was injured in a motor vehicle collision due to the carelessness of Doe, an unidentified driver, on Interstate 55 near its intersection with Loughborough in St. Louis. He alleges he sustained injuries to his back, neck, left hand and left shoulder, for which he filed a claim for payments of uninsured motorist benefits under the insurance policy issued by the defendant.

The plaintiff holds Unique Insurance Managers Inc. and John Doe responsible because defendant Doe allegedly violated the law by driving his vehicle at an excessive rate of speed and improper lane use.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of more than $25,000 from both defendants, plus costs and all further relief as the court may deem just and reasonable. He is represented by Kyle Kleefus of Law Offices of Derald L. Gab PC in St. Louis.
