Law money 10

ST. LOUIS – A satellite television installation business is alleged to have misclassified its technicians as independent contractors and failed to pay them overtime.

Tyrone Glover, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, filed a complaint on May 30 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Synergies3 TEC Services LLC alleging violation of the Fair Labor Practices Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff has been employed by the defendant since June 2015 as a technician. He alleges that he worked more than 40 hours per week and that he and other technicians were misclassified as independent contractors.

The plaintiff holds Synergies3 TEC Services LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly misclassified them as independent contractors, refused to pay overtime wages and deducted workers' compensation insurance premiums without maintaining effective workers' compensation insurance coverage since Jan. 2.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory and liquidated damages, plus interest, costs and all other relief as the court deems fair and equitable. He is represented by Mark Potashnick of Weinhaus & Potashnick in St. Louis, Eli Karsh of Liberman, Goldstein & Karsh in Clayton, Missouri and Richard T. Grossman of Grossman Law Firm in St. Louis.
