ST. LOUIS – A St. Louis construction company alleges three former employees unlawfully used its confidential information.

Vernon L. Goedecke Co. filed a complaint on May 31 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Michael Rafferty, Patrick Rafferty and Curtis Rafferty alleging misappropriation of trade secrets and other counts.

According to the complaint, the defendants are former employees of the plaintiff. The plaintiff alleges that the defendants conspired to leave their employment to work for a direct competitor, SSI Commercial & Highway Construction Materials, and copied and/or downloaded "essentially all" of the plaintiff's confidential and proprietary information.

The plaintiff holds Michael Rafferty, Patrick Rafferty and Curtis Rafferty responsible because the defendants allegedly used, released or disclosed its confidential information through improper means in conflict with its business interests.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all damages, plus interest, disgorgement of profits, costs, fees and expenses and all further relief as the court may deem proper and just. It is represented by Laura Jordan, Michael Nepple and Steven A. Shredl of Thompson Coburn LLP in St. Louis.
