ST. LOUIS – A driver and passenger allege they were injured when another driver struck their vehicle while traveling in reverse.

Willie Halliburton and Latonia Swift filed a complaint on June 5 in the St. Louis 22nd Judicial Circuit Court against Abeer Rashed Alghamdi alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Oct. 23, 2017, they were traveling west on Lafayette Avenue at/or near its intersection with Grand Boulevard in St. Louis when the defendant collided with their vehicle. They allege they sustained serious and permanent injuries and incurred medical expenses as a result of the accident.

The plaintiffs hold Alghamdi responsible because the defendant allegedly negligently drove at an excessive speed in reverse after realizing that she was going the wrong direction on a one-way road, failed to maintain careful lookout and failed to stop or reduce speed to avoid collision.

The plaintiffs seek damages of more than $25,000 each, plus costs of this action, interest and all further relief as the court deems just and proper. They are represented by Jerry A. Klein in Clayton.
