Passengers seek damages from Bi State Development Agency after St. Louis collision

Lawsuits
Car accident 14

ST. LOUIS – Two passengers in a Bi State Development Agency vehicle allege they were injured when the driver failed to yield.

Devin Barnett and Angelique Hayes filed a complaint on June 18 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Jacqueline Denise Clerk and Bi State Development Agency alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Sept. 9, 2013, they were passengers in a vehicle operated by Clerk on Dr. Martin Luther King Drive at or near its intersection with Goodfellow Boulevard in St. Louis. The suit states Clerk struck another vehicle and caused injury to the plaintiffs. Clerk was employed by Bi State Development Agency at the time of the collision, the suit states.

The plaintiffs hold Clerk and Bi State Development Agency responsible because defendant Clerk allegedly failed to yield, failed to properly signal a turn and failed to keep a proper lookout.

The plaintiffs seek damages of more than $25,000, plus costs of this action. They are represented by Cecil L. Skaggs in St. Louis.
