ST. LOUIS – An attorney working for Sigma Aldrich on a temporary project alleges he was injured at the Sigma Aldrich campus because of a slippery crosswalk.

Adam Bagwell filed a complaint on July 2 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Sigma-Aldrich Corp., et al. alleging premises liability and general negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 2, 2015, he was at the defendants' campus in St. Louis and it was raining. The suit states that while walking through a thoroughfare as directed, he slid on a painted portion of the crosswalk and fell directly on his knee. He alleges the slip caused him to fracture his right knee.

The plaintiff holds Sigma-Aldrich Corp., et al. responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to use or place non-skid materials on the crosswalk and failed to provide adequate warning of the dangerous condition.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of more than $25,000, plus costs and all further relief as the court may deem just and proper. He is represented by Douglas Ponder and Jaclyn M. Zimmermann of Ponder Zimmermann LLC in St. Louis.
