ST. LOUIS – The widow and adult son of a man who died after a collision are seeking damages from a corporation and its employees.

Maria E. Carlin and Antonio M. Carlin, widow and natural son of decedent Luis Carlin, filed a complaint on July 6 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Care Medical Transportation LLC, Yasin L. Warsame and Marion Blackemore alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on April 24, Luis Carlin was in his wheelchair and a passenger in a vehicle driven by defendant Warsame and owned and controlled by defendant Care Medical on Chouteau Avenue at or near its intersection with Vandeventer Boulevard when Warsame collided with defendant Blackemore's vehicle. The suit states the collision caused Luis Carlin to suffer severe injuries and death.

The plaintiffs hold Care Medical Transportation LLC, Warsame and Blackemore responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to operate their vehicles in a careful and prudent manner.

The plaintiffs seek judgment against each defendant in an amount greater than $25,000, plus costs and all further relief as the court may deem just and proper. They are represented by Christopher A. Allen of Goldblatt + Singer in Clayton.
