ST. LOUIS – A St. Peters man is alleged to have failed to yield and cause a collision in St. Louis.

Shawn Rush filed a complaint on July 6 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Dustin Whitsett alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Sept. 5, 2017, he was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier on Washington Street at or near its intersection with Sixth Street when the defendant caused his vehicle to collide with plaintiff's vehicle. He alleges he sustained severe and permanent injuries to his head, neck, back, left shoulder, right knee and right ankle as a result of the collision.

The plaintiff holds Whitsett responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to maintain a careful lookout and failed to yield to the right of way.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of no less than $25,000, plus costs of this action and any other additional relief as the court may deem proper and just. He is represented by Eric D. Holland and Carl Kessinger of Holland Law Firm LLC in St. Louis.
