ST. LOUIS – A man alleges he was injured as a passenger in a car when the driver ran a red light at a St. Louis intersection.
Derrick E. Strain filed a complaint on July 9 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Jasmin Boyd alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Dec. 30, 2017, he was a passenger in a vehicle driven by defendant when they were violently struck by a vehicle driven by Whitley Henderson at the intersection of Cass and North Jefferson avenues in St. Louis. The suit states the defendant failed to stop at a red light and caused the collision.
He alleges he suffered multiple facial scars, shoulder pain, mental anguish and anxiety and incurred medical expenses in the amount of $42,723.60 plus future plastic surgery of approximately $35,000 as a result of the collision.
The plaintiff holds Boyd responsible because the defendant allegedly negligently drove while distracted, failed to maintain careful lookout and violated the red electrical signal light.
The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant for an amount that will fairly compensate him for his damages, and all further relief as the court may deem proper and just. He is represented by Alif A. Williams in St. Louis.
