ST. LOUIS – A driver injured in a collision caused by an uninsured motorist alleges her insurance company has refused to pay her per the terms of the insurance contract.

Brenda Sidebottom filed a complaint on July 31 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co. alleging that the liability insurer failed to perform its obligations under the terms of the insurance contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 27, 2016, she was traveling in Jefferson City when an uninsured driver struck the rear of her vehicle. She alleges she sustained serious and permanent injuries to her cervical spine, torso, arms and legs and incurred medical expenses of approximately $65,000 and lost wages of approximately $15,000 as a result of the collision.

At the time of the accident, the suit states the insurance policy provided by defendant was in full force and effect.

The plaintiff holds State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co. responsible because despite demand for payments, the defendant failed and refused to pay plaintiff's claim per the terms of the policy.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus costs and all further relief as the court may deem just and proper. She is represented by William K. Meehan of Meehan Law Firm in University City.
