ST. LOUIS – A Metro passenger alleges she was injured when the bus was rear-ended in St. Louis almost two years ago.

Karen Damous filed a complaint on Aug. 24 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Byron Thompson, Bi-State Development Agency and Charlene Shannon alleging bodily injury.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Oct. 22, 2016, she was a passenger on a Metro bus driven by defendant Thompson on North Kingshighway approaching Page Boulevard in St. Louis when defendant Shannon struck the rear of the bus. She alleges she sustained injuries to her neck and back and incurred medical expenses of more than $7,300 as a result of the collision.

The plaintiff holds Thompson, Bi-State Development Agency and Shannon responsible because defendants Thompson and Shannon allegedly failed to maintain careful lookout and failed to avoid the collision.

The plaintiff seeks damages in an amount greater than $25,000, plus costs of this action. She is represented by Thomas Traube of Sorrell & Traube in St. Louis.
