Man alleges age was factor in termination from FedEx job

Lawsuits
Wrongful term 11

ST. LOUIS – A former FedEx employee alleges his age was a factor in his 2016 termination after more than 32 years of employment.

Donald Orler filed a complaint on Sept. 21 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Federal Express Corp. and Nancy Troy citing the Missouri Human Rights Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was hired by FedEx in 1984. He alleges in 2016, he filed an internal Equal Employment Opportunities complaint over allegations of discrimination, retaliation and hostile work environment. He alleges after he filed this complaint, he was subjected to retaliation and terminated in October 2016.

The plaintiff holds Federal Express Corp. and Troy responsible because the defendants allegedly retaliated against him and terminated his employment for complaining of discrimination and hostile work environment and because he is older than 40.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory and punitive damages, attorney's fees, costs and and all further relief deemed proper and just. He is represented by Ryan. M. Furniss of The Furniss Law Firm LLC in St. Louis and Kenny Powell of The Powell Law Firm LLC in St. Louis.
