ST. LOUIS – Two individuals injured in a collision in St. Louis allege their insurer has refused to pay them according to the terms of their policy.
Latresa Parker and Erin King, by and through her next friend Latresa Parker, filed a complaint on Sept. 18 in the St. Louis 22nd Judicial Circuit Court against Geico Casualty Co. alleging breach of contract and vexatious refusal to pay.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Oct. 3, 2017, Parker and King were injured in a motor vehicle collision due to the carelessness of an unknown driver at the intersection of Riverview and West Florissant in St. Louis. They allege they sustained injuries and damages and incurred medical expenses and made demand for payment under the uninsured motorist coverage of the policy issued by the defendant.
The plaintiffs hold Geico Casualty Co. responsible because the defendant allegedly refused, failed and neglected to make payments in accordance with the terms of the uninsured motorist insurance policy.
The plaintiffs seek judgment in their favor in an amount of more than $25,000 for each of them, plus interest and penalties, attorney's fees and costs and any further relief was the court deems proper and just. They are represented by Julie L. Siegel of Frankel, Rubin, Klein, Siegel, Payne & Pudlowski PC in St. Louis.
