ST. LOUIS – An insurance company is seeking more than $30,000 from a driver who allegedly failed to obey traffic control device.

Progressive Advanced Insurance Co. filed a complaint on Oct. 9 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Michael Hyster alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on Nov. 22, 2015, plaintiff's insured Latara Nunn was involved in an automobile accident due to the negligence of defendant. Nunn allegedly sustained injuries and damages for which plaintiff is liable to compensate her for her losses.

The plaintiff holds Hyster responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to obey a traffic control device, failed to maintain a careful lookout and failed to yield to the right of way.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant for the principal sum of $33,150.75, plus interest and costs. It is represented by Piper Lori Hughes of Wetsch Abbott Osborn Van Vliet PLC in West Des Moines, Iowa.
