ST. LOUIS – A St. Louis County man alleges he was assaulted by a security guard while attending an event at a St. Louis museum.

Mark Grimaldi filed a complaint on Oct. 23 in the St. Louis 22nd Judicial Circuit Court against City Museum I LLC, Rooftop Cafe LLC and Adam Humphrey alleging assault and battery.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 3, 2017, he was an attendee at City Museum I and Rooftop Cafe's 4 Hands & City Museum Beer Release Party. He alleges he repositioned a spotlight at the lower level of the City Museum because it was blinding patrons and was asked to leave. The suit states the plaintiff was accompanied by Humphrey, who was employed by the defendants as a security guard, and Humphrey allegedly brandished a gun and assaulted him.

The plaintiff holds City Museum I LLC, Rooftop Cafe LLC and Humphrey responsible because Humphrey's alleged conduct was allegedly recklessly indifferent to the plaintiff's rights.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of no less than $25,000, attorney's fees, costs and all further relief as the court may deem proper. He is represented by David T. Streett of Herren Dare & Streett in St. Louis.
