ST. LOUIS – An apartment tenant alleges she injured her ankle and left leg after slipping on snow or ice on a sidewalk.

Emma Frenchie filed a complaint on Oct. 16 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Murphy-Blair Associates II LP alleging premises liability.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 12, 2014, she was a resident of the defendant's apartment complex at 1433 Madison St., St. Louis when she slipped and fell on snow or ice on the sidewalk. She alleges she sustained serious and permanent injuries to her ankle and left leg as a result of the fall.

The plaintiff holds Murphy-Blair Associates II LP responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to prevent ice from forming on the sidewalk, failed to barricade the dangerous area of the sidewalk and failed to warn of it.

The plaintiff seeks damages in excess of the jurisdictional limits of the court, costs and all further relief as may be appropriate. She is represented by Brent E. Labovitz of Kolker & Labovitz in Clayton.
