Car accident 05

ST. LOUIS – A passenger injured in a collision in St. Louis on Interstate 64 is seeking damages from the driver who rear-ended her vehicle.

Joyce Gales filed a complaint on Oct. 18 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Kayla R. Fozzard alleging that the driver negligently drove her vehicle at an excessive speed.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 15, 2013, she was a passenger in a motor vehicle traveling east on I-64 when the defendant struck the vehicle from behind, forcing it to collide with another vehicle. She alleges she sustained injuries to her head, neck, back, arms, hands, legs and bones and incurred medical expenses of approximately $8,962 as a result of the collision.

The plaintiff holds Fozzard responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to maintain a careful lookout and failed to keep safe distance.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of more than $25,000, costs and any further relief as the court deems just and proper. She is represented by Andrew L. Mandel of Mandel & Mandel LLP in St. Louis.
