Semi crash 05

ST. LOUIS – A Highland, Illinois resident alleges a tractor-trailer driver failed to maintain in a single lane and caused a collision on an interstate in St. Louis.

Carol O'Brien filed a complaint on Oct. 19 in the St. Louis 22nd Judicial Circuit Court against US 1 Logistics LLC, US 1 Industries Inc. and Shannon Moise alleging negligence and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Oct. 21, 2013, she was operating her motor vehicle traveling east on Interstate 64 at or near its intersection with Vandeventer Avenue in St. Louis when her vehicle was struck by defendants' tractor-trailer. The suit states Moise was driving the truck at the time of the collision and was employed by the defendants.

She alleges she sustained severe injuries to her left shoulder, neck, head and back as a result of the crash.

The plaintiff holds US 1 Logistics LLC, US 1 Industries Inc. and Moise responsible because defendant Moise negligently drove the tractor-trailer too fast for the altered construction condition of the road, failed to maintain in a single lane and failed to keep a careful lookout.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of more than $25,000 and all further relief deemed just and proper. She is represented by John Malec of Martin, Malec & Leopold PC in St. Louis.
