California man alleges unsecured manhole cover in St. Louis caused vehicle to fall in hole

Lawsuits

ST. LOUIS – A California man alleges he was injured when his vehicle fell into a hole caused by an unsecured manhole cover.

Kamid Mosby filed a complaint on Nov. 29 in the St. Louis 22nd Judicial Circuit Court against Spire Inc. and the city of St. Louis alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on Nov. 2, the plaintiff was driving his motor vehicle along Hickory Street in St. Louis when his vehicle plunged through an unsecured, unmarked manhole cover. He alleges he injured his head during the incident.

The plaintiff holds Spire Inc. and the city of St. Louis responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to secure the manhole cover and failed to guard or blockade around it.

The plaintiff seeks damages of more than $25,000, plus costs and all further relief as the court deems proper and just. He is represented by John G. Simon and John M. Simon of The Simon Law Firm PC in St. Louis.
