ST. LOUIS – Three individuals are seeking damages from a car rental company over allegations it negligently entrusted one of its vehicles to a driver who caused a collision.

Tiffany Montgomery, personally and as next friend of Cassidy Boles, a minor; and Lakimbria Hill filed a complaint on Dec. 3 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Heavenly Group LLC, doing business as Aboard Rent-a-Car; Melinda Rucker; and John Doe alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on Oct. 10, 2017, the plaintiffs were traveling westbound on Osceola Street at or near its intersection with Nebraska Avenue in St. Louis when defendant Aboard's vehicle, driven by Rucker and/or Doe, struck their vehicle. The plaintiffs allege they suffered injuries and damages.

The plaintiffs hold Heavenly Group LLC, Rucker and John Doe responsible because defendant Rucker and/or Doe violated a traffic signal, failed to yield to the right of way and failed to slacken speed, swerve or stop to avoid a collision. They allege Heavenly Group LLC negligently entrusted the vehicle to Rucker and/or Doe.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against each defendant in an amount of more than $25,000, costs and any further relief as the court deems just and proper. They are represented by Christopher S. Saracino Jr. of Goldblatt + Singer in St. Louis.
