ST. LOUIS – An Illinois woman and her minor son allege they were injured in a collision in St. Louis when another driver violated a red traffic light.

Austria Harrell, individually and as next friend of Andre M. Bell, a minor filed a complaint on Dec. 12 in the St. Louis 22nd Judicial Circuit Court against Nyokie D. Murphy alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Oct. 28, 2017, they were traveling eastbound on Convention Plaza Drive at its intersection with Third Street in St. Louis when the defendant's vehicle collided with their vehicle. They allege they sustained serious injuries and incurred substantial medical expenses and damages as a result of the collision.

The plaintiffs hold Murphy responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to maintain a careful lookout, failed to yield to the right of way and failed to stop at a red traffic light.

The plaintiffs seek damages of more than $25,000, costs and all further relief as the court may deem proper and just. They are represented by Scott H. Green and Kenneth E. Rudd of The Law Office of Scott H. Green PC in St. Louis.
