Empire Mechanical alleged to have failed to pay Steel-Fab in full for equipment

ST. LOUIS – A St. Louis company allegedly failed to pay for equipment it purchased in full.

Steel-Fab Inc. filed a complaint on Dec. 19 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Empire Mechanical Inc. alleging that the subcontractor violated the Missouri Prompt Payment Act and breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Oct. 16, 2017, defendant contracted with plaintiff for the purchase of a Kerry Hydraulic System for $61,275. 

The plaintiff holds Empire Mechanical Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay the full amount for the purchase.

The plaintiff seeks damages of more than $25,000, plus interest, costs and all further relief as the court deems just and proper. It is represented by M. Quinn Murphy and Joseph F. Devereux III of Sandberg Phoenix & Von Gontard PC in St. Louis.
