ST. LOUIS – A disabled woman has filed a lawsuit against the Crazy Sushi restaurant in St. Peters, seeking an injunction requiring the business owner to modify the property to comply with ADA standards.

Plaintiff Maryanne McCauley filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri against Gilman-Fisher citing allegations of discrimination in violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

According to court documents, McCauley, who is disabled and requires the use of a wheelchair, alleges that the defendant's property, specifically the business "Crazy Sushi," located at 3350 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, MO, has various physical barriers and violations of the ADA that impede her access to the property. These violations include issues related to accessible parking spaces, access aisles, ramps, and signage that do not comply with the ADA standards.

The plaintiff asserts that the defendant's failure to remove these barriers denies her full and equal access to the goods, services, and facilities offered at the property. McCauley states that she intends to revisit the property to monitor changes and ensure compliance with ADA standards.

McCauley is seeking an injunction requiring the defendant to modify the property to comply with ADA standards. Additionally, she is seeking an award for attorney's fees, court costs and any other relief the court deems proper. She is represented in this case by attorney Douglas S. Schapiro of The Schapiro Law Firm in Boca Raton, Fla.
