A Black employee has filed a racial discrimination and wrongful terminatoin lawsuit against Walmart.

Isaac Ware filed his complaint in federal court against Walmart Inc.

According to the complaint, Ware began his employment with Walmart in January 1999 and was transferred and promoted to the Raytown location in August 2021. Throughout his tenure at this location, he says he was harassed on the basis of his race.

Once staff learned of his interracial marriage, Ware says rumors started that he hated Black people. He was told this by four Team Leads all of whom were Black.

Ware says he was subjected to illegal treatment in terms of conditions, compensation, and privileges of his employment which resulted in damages. Ware claims Walmart violated the Americans with Disabilities Act as Amended, Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Family Medical Leave Act.
