A woman has filed a lawsuit after she says she was injured at a U.S. Post Office branch.

Larrann Pippin filed her complaint in federal court against the United States Postal Service.

According to the complaint, Pippinn was visiting a USPS branch in Ste. Genevieve on May 27, 2022, when she slipped on water present on the entry and exit steps of the post office. She claims this dangerous condition led to physical injuries and pain.

The complaint says the USPS denied Ms. Pippin's initial claim in October 2023, leading her to take legal action.

Pippin accuses USPS of negligence for failing to remedy the dangerous condition, provide safe entry/exit points, barricade or warn about the hazard and exercise reasonable care for her safety. As a result of the alleged negligence, she sustained severe injuries to her left foot and thighs, impacting her ability to perform daily activities and earn income.

She seeks compensatory damages.
