Advent Properties LLC, Latham Bell accused of fraud

Contract 02

ST. LOUIS — Property owners are suing Latham Bell and Advent Properties LLC, citing alleged breach of contract and fraud.

Geraldine and Larry Riley filed a complaint on July 7 in the St. Louis City Circuit Court, alleging that the buyers failed fully pay the agreed amount under the terms of a contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that they have suffered $30,000 in damages. The plaintiffs hold the defendants responsible for allegedly tricking them into signing a deed instead of a sale contract. After they signed the deed, the defendant allegedly refused to pay them the full amount.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek an order declaring the warranty deed is void, the plaintiffs are the rightful owners of the property and that the defendants cannot enter the property and evict the plaintiffs. The plaintiffs also seek damages, interest, costs and expenses and all further relief the court may deem just. They are represented by Stephen A. Martin of The Law Office of Stephen A. Martin in St. Charles.
