GEICO accused of failing to pay for policyholder's claims

Insurance 03

ST. LOUIS — A policyholder is suing GEICO Insurance Company, citing alleged breach of insurance contract.

Everett Simons filed a complaint in the St. Louis Circuit Court against GEICO, alleging that the licensed insurer failed to perform its obligations under its policy contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 7 his motor vehicle was hit on the driver's side by an uninsured motorist. He allegedly sustained injuries including but not limited to his neck, shoulders, chest and back; and was caused to suffer physical and mental pain, loss of earnings and medical expenses. The plaintiff holds GEICO responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to settle his claim for the injuries and damages he sustained.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury; and seeks judgment against the defendant in excess of $15,000, plus costs and any further relief as the court deems just. He is represented by David L. Pentland of David L. Pentland Law Office in St. Louis.
